This unique, interesting fruit wood Brasero table was crafted in Spain, circa 1780. Round in shape, the antique table stands on four chestnut barley twist legs, and is dressed with two brass trays. The circular top has a removable brass tray dressed with intricate brass shell handles; the surface is decorated with horse and knight, numerous Fleur-de-Lis and repousse floral motifs throughout; the top is further embellished with decorative brass nailheads. In its original use, this kind of Brasero table (from the French term Brasier), was used as a heater. Today, this kind of piece could be used as a wonderful greenery plant stand, or as a bar cart to keep drinks cold! The unusual table is in good condition commensurate with age and use, and adorns a rich walnut patina and patinated brass finish. Wood top and bottom is slightly warped (see detailed images). Measures: Diameter 29.5
