All tube fittings are double ferrule and consist of a body, front ferrule, back ferrule and nut. Stainless steel barstock conforms to ASTM A276, ASTM 479, ASME SA479 and JIS GA 303 Stainless steel forged fittings conform to ASTM A182, ASME SA 182 and JIS G3214 The pressure rating of a BFO Tube Fitting is rated to the working pressure of the connective tubing. Connection:: Connect fractional tube - all tube end connections are the same size. Ferrule System:: Double Ferrule Pipe End Pressure Ratings:: Many tube fittings have a male or female pipe end. These ends sometimes have a lower pressure rating than the pressure rating of the tube fitting end. The ratings shown above are based on ASME B31.3-1999. Female pipe ends have lower ratings than male pipe end in a given size due to the inner and outer diameters of the female threads being larger than those of the male pipe ends.
