Is it summer yet?! Nope, it’s not even spring yet. lol. I’m hoping that if I make all of the warm weather things it will force the sunshine to come. Let’s see if it works. πŸ™‚ The Summer Nights Shawl is a super fun and quick make to work up while you’re netflixing. It’s a very easy mesh stitch with a simple repeat row. It’s worked up double stranded with the light and superfine yarn. If you don’t have both yarns available, I recommend using just a basic worsted weight yarn! Be sure to follow me on Instagram and tag me with your finished shawl! I love to share your work with my followers. πŸ™‚ Materials: Light (3) weight cotton yarn. Pattern uses Lion Brand Comfy Cotton in “whipped Cream”. 200 yards. Superfine (1) weight yarn. Pattern uses Lion Brand Summer Nights in “blue Lagoon”. 215 yards. 5.00mm Crochet Hook Optional- If you add tassels or fringe, you will need more yarn then noted above. Notes: This shawl uses a simple mesh stitch with an easy repeat. If you want a bigger shawl, just add as many rows until you’re satisfied! I double stranded my cotton yarn and my superfine yarn. Be sure to hold both strands at once if you want to do the same! If not, I recommend using a basic worsted (4) weight yarn. Pattern is worked from the bottom up in rows. Stitches Used: Tc- Triple Crochet Ch- Chain Sc- Single Crochet Dimensions: 58″ wide by 24″ tall Gauge: Gauge is not critical for this pattern. Pattern: Ch 9 Row 1: 1 Tc in the first Ch made. Turn. Row 2: Ch 9 (counts as 1 Tc and Ch 5 set here and throughout). 1 Sc into loop from previous row. Ch 5, Tc into 4th Ch of starting Ch. Turn. Row 3: Ch 9. 1 Sc in first loop. Ch 5, 1 Sc in next loop. Ch 5, 1 Tc in the 4th Ch of the loop below. Turn. Row 4: Ch 9. 1 Sc in first loop. *Ch 5, 1 Sc in next loop* Repeat from * to * across row. Ch 5, 1 Tc in the 4th Ch of the loop below. Turn. Repeat Row 4 for the desired length/size of your shawl! My shawl (pictured) is a total of 40 rows. Optional- You can leave your shawl/scarf how it is, but I think it’s super cute with tassels! I made 3 tassels and put one on each corner of my shawl. I think it would look great with some fringe as well! πŸ™‚
