The company was founded in 2011 by Elizabeth Chabner Thompson, MD, MPH, a New York Radiation Oncologist and former breast surgery patient who observed both personally and professionally the acute need for a comprehensive line of well-designed, high-quality products that would improve the patient experience before, during and after surgery and other treatment for cancer, and other surgeries and conditions. The company’s first product was the Breast Bag, a care bag containing recovery supplies, comfort items and hygiene products in a reusable designer duffel bag that could be sent to a woman facing breast cancer (mastectomy) surgery by a caring friend.
