It can absorb a lot of moisture (up to 33% of its dry weight). Air between uses, wash only when required. Airing for 3 days seems to be the magic number to fully restore. I know they feel lovely but avoid continuous use with socks knitted from 100% wool, the fibres need to rest so alternate with another pair and you'll have them a whole lot longer.
