Chelsea officially confirmed the signing of Kalidou Koulibaly over night and he was not just adamant to make his first statement as a Chelsea player.
The defender signs on a four-year deal from Napoli, and there is an option to extend that by a further year. The fee is just under £34m.
It represents a massive signing for Chelsea and he is a player who can certainly be considered as an elite statement signing. He of course joins Raheem Sterling as being the second Men’s signing for Chelsea under the Todd Boehly era. These are absolute statement signings.
Koulibaly is buzzing to be at Chelsea, as you can see from the images of him alongside his national team mate, Edouard Mendy.
Koulibaly: “I’m very happy to be here with this team at Chelsea. It’s a big team in the world and my dream was always to play in the Premier League. Chelsea came first to get me in 2016 but we didn’t make it.“
