It is a very great news for Chelsea fans and board as they have been given the chance to sell tickets again but this time to only away tickets for away matches.
Details of this amendment to Chelsea license;
Chelsea can now sell tickets for some home matches like the home leg of their Champions league match and actually the semi finals against Real Madrid and FA cup semi finals at Wembley stadium against Crystal palace.
Chelsea fans can also purchase tickets for the future EPL matches away fixture with any income going to the home side.
On the other hand, then supporters of the away team can buy tickets in Chelsea home games at Stamford Bridge with the revenue going to the Premier League.
To this effect, sports minister Nigel Huddleston said;
“I would like to thank fans for their patience while we have engaged with the football authorities to make this possible.
“Since Roman Abramovich was added to the UK’s sanctions list for his links to [Russian president] Vladimir Putin we have worked extensively to ensure the club can continue to play football while ensuring the sanctions regime continues to be enforced.”
