Chelsea Supporters Club has rejected potential owner, sends warning to Abramovich; Here is what is said.
A supporters club of Chelsea has rejected their potential owner and has also warned Abramovich and also everyone else in charge of the club sales.
The Ricketts family has been the warning point of the Chelsea supporters club in Chicago.
The head of the supporters club Brian Wolff cited the troubles and controversies hat came with the redevelopment of Wrigley Field and also the political leanings of the family.
Brian had said that he is reporting the very vast majority of Chelsea fans, also citing that the BAME and LGBTQ+ communities were not supported by the Ricketts family.
In a report published earlier by Daily Mail, a good number of Muslim players at Chelsea do not feel so safe ad comfortable with Ricketts becoming the clubs next owner after some emails from Joe Ricketts surfaces last week in which email he described Muslims as the Enemy.
“As the Head of Chelsea Chicago Supporters Club, and the Chelsea Fans’ Forum Overseas Representative, I’ve had a unique position hearing what supporters in Chicago and worldwide have said regarding the Ricketts family’s bid for Chelsea,” Wolff’s statement reads.
“The Ricketts’ political donations, fundraising and support for candidates who do not share the inclusive views of Chelsea Football Club and its supporters are wholly inconsistent with 19 years of fantastic work done by the club and the Chelsea Foundation, most notably as a leader in committing to a living wage and efforts to protect and promote equality for BAME and LGBTQ+ communities,”
“On behalf of countless supporters worldwide, I urge you to reject their bid for ownership of Chelsea Football Club in favor of others who will commit to not only building upon the last two decades of investment in players and infrastructure, but equally important, the investment in supporters and the values we hold dear,”
