Tuchel drops ‘crazy’ Reece James hint ahead of Carabao Cup final

Chelsea head to Wembley to face league rivals Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final on Sunday and it’s been an interesting build up to the clash.

Chelsea coach Thomas Tuchel was speaking to the media earlier today ahead of Sunday’s final and he confirmed the return of right wing-back Reece James who has missed the last two months with an injury.

When asked about the possibility of playing Reece James in the final on Sunday, Tuchel admitted the temptation to do that given the player’s performances in training but according to him he’ll decide after subsequent training sessions.

Thomas Tuchel: “Even if I wanted to, I don’t think I could answer right now. He looked brilliant in the last two training sessions. Let’s wait another session to see if I’m crazy enough to put him on the pitch, or if the reasonable side of me wins.”

Thomas Tuchel: “Yesterday and today he looked so strong, so confident and so involved that you are tempted. We have a bit of time.”

Sunday would be the third meeting between Liverpool and Chelsea this season with both sides settling for draws in the two previous meetings and the Carabao Cup final is an interesting one as a winner must surely emerge.
